Olay Cleansing Melts +Vitamin C Review – Refreshing New Facial Cleanser!
The star of my Fall 2024 WalMart Beauty Box was a sample of Olay Cleansing Melts + Vitamin C.
I was excited to find these New Olay Cleansing Melts in the current WalMart Beauty Box! I usually don’t think much about facial cleansers. I have been fortunate to have skin that I am happy with, and I tend to set items like this aside for friends or family members who want to try something new.
But at 42 years old, my age is catching up to my face. It’s no longer enough to give a little scrub with whatever random bar soap or drippy shampoo I grab in the shower. My face has been unusually oily these last few weeks, and the discoloration from years of playing in the sun is increasingly noticeable.
Initial Impression
Excitement grew as I opened the package and was greeted with a citrusy orange scent. I enjoyed dissolving the melt into a gel in my hand. The directions said to lather up, but I was curious what using this in gel form would be like.
The scent was refreshing, and my skin felt soft and clean after use. The gel was difficult to rinse, and one square made too much for my face. Next time, I will use more water to create a lather as directed. I think I will do it in the shower for easier rinsing and so the excess does not go to waste.
Overall, it was very nice, and I can hardly wait to use Olay Cleansing Melts again!
Second Impression
The second time I used an Olay Cleansing Melt with Vitamin C was in the shower. I washed my hair and then grabbed the square that I had set aside. I added enough water to create a smooth later. The orange scent was nice but dissipated much faster when I made a lather.
Once again, the square made more cleanser than what was needed for my face. I used the extra to clean my neck, shoulders, and upper arms. It burned a little when I got some in my eyes, but the lather was much easier to rinse off than the gel I had created for my first use.
The scent did not last as long, and my skin did not feel as refreshed or soft after this second use. I think next time, I will play with the water ratio and see if I can come up with a runnier gel that doesn’t quite lather.
What did my family think about Olay Cleansing Melts +Vitamin C?
The only person to comment on my new cleanser was my daughter, who said the orange scent lingered for hours. She does not like oranges. She was not impressed.
Will I get these again?
I want to try all three of the Olay Cleansing Melts! I already tried the one with Vitamin C. The other two are supposedly unscented: one with Hyaluronic Acid and one with Retinol. I might make the Vitamin C melts part of my Sunday morning routine to get my week off to a bright start!
